Pix2Fone Browser Extension

send picture to phone

Pix2Fone Browser Extension – Pix2Phone Browser Extension is a free browser extension and Web service that makes it simple to save or transfer pictures from your PC or the Web to your mobile phone. Instead of paying for cell phone wallpaper or messing with USB-to-phone cables and other complex methods, you can save just about any image in your phone with a few clicks, or you can send an image from your picture library, if you prefer. Your cell phone and provider plan must allow WAP or SMS access to use Pix2Phone. It works in Internet Explorer as well as Firefox. Before you can use Pix2Phone, you have to activate the free service, a simple process that involves selecting your phone model and entering your mobile number and an activation code. It lists a lot of phones, but if yours isn’t included, there’s a link to request that it be added. Browse to an image, right-click it, select Save Picture to Mobile Phone, and activated the service. The program automatically optimizes images for each particular phone, or so it claims. The final step displays a preview of the image and offered two options, to download the image to our phone via WAP or as a download link via a text message in SMS. Select the WAP option, and moments later your phone will notify that it arrived. Open the image and selected it as wallpaper. The text message option involved selecting your carrier from a drop-down list, entering your cell number, and clicking Send SMS. Soon the familiar sound will tell you there is a new text message displaying the link, ready for Web access. The service Web site offers plenty of information and instructions, too, including an animated demo and a user forum. You can also send images from your computer to your phone via the Web page. You can click the Send Now link on the Web page, and a pop-up dialog let you browse your PC, select an image, and send it directly to your phone. Pix2Phone makes it a lot easier to send images to your cell phone than going through the steps individually. The service is free, and free of adware. See more

Send To Phone

Send To Phone – Simple and easy to use, Send To Phone transfers ring tones, pictures, and other media from your computer to your mobile. All you need is a PC Internet connection, a working WAP account–and of course compatible files. We like the intuitive one-button interface, despite its intrusive text tips. You also can select files by dragging and dropping or using Windows Explorer’s right-click menu. The program comes with a lengthy list of phone models and mobile operators, but some are still missing. In our tests, an SMS message with a download link didn’t arrive. Luckily, the WAP URL displayed on our PC’s screen worked fine. Send To Phone is completely free, and the installer is small enough for dial-up users. You probably won’t need it if you connect to your PC with Bluetooth or a cable, but otherwise it’s is a fine way to stuff your phone with media goodies. See more

Free Image Converter

Free Image Converter – The program’s interface is plain and fairly easy to navigate. Buttons let you add either individual images or whole folders of them that you want to resize. You can then specify the desired size in pixels and set the compression quality. The program has several options for renaming files; you can add numbers, prefixes, or suffixes to differentiate the resized files from the originals. You can also specify the directory in which the resized images will be saved. That’s about the extent of Free Image Converter’s features; if you’re looking to do much beyond resize or rename images, this probably isn’t the program for you. An online Help file is not particularly helpful, but given the program’s paucity of features, this isn’t a huge drawback. Overall, Free Image Converter doesn’t do anything we haven’t seen before, and we’ve encountered many other image converters with more features. But if you need a no-frills way to resize images, it will do the job. Free Image Converter installs a desktop icon without asking but uninstalls cleanly. See more
